ANU Centre for European Studies Doctoral Scholarship

The Australian National University’s Centre for European Studies invites applications for a PhD Scholarship for 2015 commencement.

The Australian National University has a distinct national mission that differentiates it from other higher education institutions in the country. It also has unique concentrations of research excellence, which have given it a reputation as the leading university in Australia. Located in Australia’s capital city, Canberra, a central role of the ANU is engagement with government and building a critical mass of research and education excellence in public policy that will act as a resource for the nation and the Asia-Pacific region.

Europe occupies an important place in research and teaching at the ANU. The ANU Centre for European Studies (ANUCES) was established to underscore the University-wide commitment to European studies. The Centre operates as the interface between the European Union, the Australian government and academia. Located at the heart of diplomatic and political life in Canberra, ANUCES is an initiative involving five of the University’s seven Colleges: College of Arts and Social Sciences, College of Law, College of Business and Economics, College of Asia and the Pacific and College of Medicine, Biology and Environment. ANUCES aims to promote interdisciplinary dialogue, generate collaborative research projects at home and abroad, and contribute to the development of public sector policy and debate. Jointly funded by the ANU and the European Commission, the Centre has an established record of leadership in EU studies within the context of the wider Asia- Pacific.
