German research funding for projects with Asia-Pacific

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, as part of the strategy of the Federal Government for the Internationalization of Science and Research of the Directive on the promotion of “partnerships for sustainable solutions in developing countries — Research for Development”, seeks to pilot actions for partnerships in science, research and education with developing countries in the Asia-Pacific.

An important component of this strategy is the continuous strengthening of cooperation with the so-called developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region. So Germany can position itself as a reliable partner country for future scientific and economic centers and contribute to regional solutions of global importance.

The importance of stable cooperation with current global challenges such as health, sustainable water supply and resource utilization associated. The joint development of integrated solutions must stand together flowing in the scientific expertise acquired a basic knowledge of local conditions and the specific needs of the respective countries and regions.

This funding measure aims to support German universities and other research institutions to develop, according to their scientific strengths, new collaborations with partners from countries in the Asia-Pacific region, thus enhancing the capacity of German development-related research and sustainable networking.
