New Zealand National Science Challenges: Resilience to Nature’s Challenges, High-Value Nutrition & The Deep South

The Science, Skills and Innovation group in the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment invites proposals for the following Challenges:

  • Resilience to Nature’s Challenges — research into enhancing our resilience to natural disasters;
  • High-Value Nutrition — developing high-value foods with validated health benefits, and;
  • The Deep South — understanding the role of the Antarctic and the Southern Ocean in determining our climate and future environment.

Overseas organisations may take part in a Challenge collaboration. A Challenge collaboration may include the use of international research capability and infrastructure facilities if not available in New Zealand. MBIE expects that the majority of research will be carried out in New Zealand unless there are compelling reasons otherwise.
