The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is an international non-government organisation committed to working with communities, government and other partners, to protect Fiji’s biodiversity and natural resources through sound management practices. The WCS Fiji Office is currently hiring a Fisheries Coordinator to oversee WCS Fiji’s engagement and work on fisheries in the Vatu-i-Ra Seascape and other parts of Fiji. The following qualifications are required for the position:
Bachelor Science in fisheries ecology or fisheries management. Masters preferred. At least 5-10 years experience working on coastal fisheries, with knowledge of coastal community culture and practices. Demonstrated experience in fisheries monitoring, analysis, planning and/or management. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse array of stakeholders, including industry partners. Knowledge of Fiji and broader Melanesian legal and policy systems for natural resource management and governance preferred. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written skills in English.
