Horizon 2020 is the European Union’s latest funding instrument for supporting research and innovation, and is the successor to the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). It is the largest research funding program in the world, and is also open for international participation.
One of the core aspects of Horizon 2020 is its focus on impact. It also provides an excellent platform for Australian participants to expand their global influence in important areas of science and innovation.
This introductory workshop will provide an overview of the key components of Horizon 2020, highlighting aspects that are of particular value to Australian institutions.
We will cover the basic rules of participation, including how and where to get funding. We will also explore some of the hints, tips and gotcha's that research managers need to be aware of, and will conclude with an open discussion with participants about shared experiences with FP7, COST and other EU initiatives.
